The Artist:

Melanie Potter is a fabulous seed bead artist from California. Samples of her spectacular work can be found at melaniepotter.com. She works with chevron chain stitch, which is a less common stitch. The education committee has selected 3 projects which we think you will enjoy that feature this lesser known technique.

Classes:

Lunar Lights Bracelet - Sept. 9 $75

This bracelet uses multiple techniques including right angle weave, and chevron chain stitch to encase sparkly rivolis in a snug and sparkly bezel. The clasp is cleverly hidden beneath a rivoli.

Flowers of the Field - Sept. 10 $75

Beautiful Swarovski crystals and seed beads combine to create lovely dimensional flowers in two sizes. Beaded leaves peek out between the flowers adding texture and contrast. Brick stitch, peyote stitch and chevron chain stitch will be used.

Petalicious Cuff Bracelet - Sept. 11 $75

One large flower is offset by layers and layers of tiny petals. This bracelet is full of texture and movement. The center of the flower is a bezeled Swarovski stone. Chevron chain stitch will be used for this project.

Registration:

The classes are open to current IBS members. If your membership has lapsed, please indclude your individual membership fee of $30 with your registration. Your registration form and payment check must be mailed as designated on the form. This is “first come, first placed” event determined by the postmark on your registration.

Kits:

There will be kits available for each class. They are not mandatory, if you would prefer a supply list, one will be provided.

Lunch:

There is a one-hour lunch break in the middle of the day. Since there is not a lot of commerce in the area, we are having lunch brought in. No outside food is permitted in the building. If you need to bring your lunch for dietary or other reasons, you will be asked to eat it outside.

Lunch is 13.00$ per day. All sandwiches come with a side salad and a scone. IBS will provide drinks for the day.

Signature chicken Salad: chicken, apples and a few surprises
Turkey Asparagus Wrap: turkey, asparagus, tomato/basil cream cheese spread Grilled Chicken Wrap: chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, cheddar, & ranch dressing
Panini Sandwich: turkey, bacon, tomato, spinach, cheese, onion, & basil mayo
Bruschetta Panini: Mozzarella, basil, tomato, and green onion sauce Tuna
Surprise Panini: Albacore tuna, celery, tomato, mayo and two cheeses
Monte Cristo Panini: apple bread, ham, provolone, w/apple butter for dipping
Grilled Cheese Panini: 3 cheeses, pesto and tomatoes Spinach and Feta Quiche
