The Program: |
Love the look of crocheted ropes but can’t Figure out how to do it? Here’s a super easy way to get a rope with a similar look and feel with a fraction of the fuss. The pattern possibilities are endless. We will start with a simple striped rope.

Supplies / Instructions: |
For this project you will need 2-3 colors of size 11 seed beads. Preferably they should all be the same brand, or at least the same shape. No delicas. You can use whatever thread you are most comfortable with. 6 lb Fireline or C-lon D are perfect.
It would be fantastic if you all did a tiny bit of homework. To get started you need a small piece of peyote stitch 10 beads wide and 11 rows long. The First and last bead of the width should be Color B, and the center beads should be Color A. It doesn’t matter what those colors are, just pick colors you want to work with. But a bit of contrast will help you see where you need to do your turn later. You could add a third color somewhere in the middle if you like.
If you look at the columns of beads once the strip is made it should be 1 column B, 8 columns A, and 1 column B.
No worries if you don’t have time to do your homework, we will go over it in class, but if you do get it done, you will get to the fun part faster.
If you have any questions, contact Francie Broadie at fab@franciebroadie.com or text her at 317-403-6051 to make arrangements. |
