The Project:

Capture a breath of springtime in a necklace that evokes the bursting forth of blossoms. Explore a little-known South African stitch and its capacity for sculptural nuances. Make a pair of pods, composed of sizes 6, 8, and 11 seed beads, by varying bead count and size per inch. Connect them with a bail to be worn as a pendant on a graceful necklace of zippity-do-dah herringbone stitch (by weaving two rows at a time). Transition back into polygon stitch at both ends for a sparkling Rivoli and loop closure. The Rivoli is held securely in a textured bezel that is as lovely from the back as from the front! This bezel technique alone is “worth the price of admission”. Plus, it works up astonishingly quickly.
